On March 20, current students and alumni from the four NYU Stern-NYU Shanghai Master’s programs joined together at NYU Shanghai for a panel discussion on navigating the transition from school to work. Five alumni from the past few years who currently work in companies in Shanghai including Allianz Global Investors, FUJIFILM, Herbeast, Keystone Sports, and Leverage Consulting shared advice on securing their dream jobs and building their careers since graduation.

Panelists shared how to leverage their passion and the opportunity to experiment with different companies and positions to determine which industry to pursue. They also discussed different strategies to be more effective in the job search and provided insights on how to overcome challenges at work as young professionals. At the end of the panel, panelists encouraged students to try to be more confident and ambitious in their job search.

Following the panel discussion, more alumni joined the networking mixer to catch up with old classmates and make new connections with each other over shared interests and career goals. Current students were also able to meet alumni from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise and ask more specific questions. Both alumni and current students enjoyed the valuable opportunity to connect and engage with the community of the NYU Stern - NYU Shanghai MS Programs.
