Gabriel (Zihao) Song is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Music at NYU Shanghai. He is also a musical theater educator, choir conductor, vocal coach, and performer. Prof. Song holds a Master of Music with a specialization in Musical Theater from NYU Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts Professions, and a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theater from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
As a vocal coach, he trains singers of all levels, ages and musical styles, coaches teachers, speakers, performers, and choirs. He has served as a vocal coach in various musical theater productions and cabarets, providing healthy and sustainable vocal training systems for many professional musical theater performers and singers. As a choral educator, he is the director of NYUShanghai Chorale and created the Faculty and Staff Choir(FaSta Choir). As an actor, he has performed in numerous musicals and concerts in New York City, Shanghai and Hong Kong. His repertoire includes City of Angels, Rags, Kiss Me Kate, Hairspray, L'Enfant et les sortilèges, Magic Flute, My Fair Lady, On the Waterfront, The Incident, etc.
