Science Laboratories

Science Laboratories

The science laboratories are located on the 4th and 5th floors of the south hall of the campus, with more than 20 science laboratories and supporting instrument rooms covering various scientific disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, electrical, and computer engineering, equipped with world-class experimental equipment and complete supporting facilities.

The laboratories serve the experimental teaching of basic courses in various disciplines such as physics, chemistry, biology, electrical engineering, and computer engineering, as well as specialized courses such as organic chemistry, advanced cell biology, genetics, computer embedded systems, and digital logic, and other elective experimental teaching. It also serves as a platform for students' independent studies and capstones. After safety training and instrument use training, students have the opportunity to use advanced precision equipment such as fiber optic spectrometers, circuit board production systems, precision oscilloscopes, fluorescence microscopes, flow cytometer, atomic force microscopes, and high-performance liquid chromatography to conduct scientific research experiments, guiding students to devote themselves to scientific research and explore the unknown world, laying the foundation for Shanghai New York University to become a world-class research university.

The Laboratory Management Department is fully committed to maintaining high standards of quality, overall safety, and compliance within the laboratory while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory. We implement complementary management regulations and safety policies to protect the safety of the students, faculty, staff, and the university community, and provide various experimental equipment and instruments. Our efforts contribute to providing students with hands-on experience with course concepts and with the opportunity to explore different experimental methods, ensuring the well-being of laboratory personnel, and meeting regulatory requirements.
