FAQs
Can I make an appointment with a specific LA?

No. LA tutoring is available on a drop-in basis only. Please refer to the tutoring schedule and stop by during the designated times for the course you need help with.

What if 20 minutes isn’t enough to cover all my questions?

If there are no other students waiting, you may extend your session by an additional 20 minutes. However, we do not recommend staying with the same LA for more than three consecutive sessions. It’s important to take time to process and apply what you've learned before returning for further help.

How many drop-in sessions can I have per day?

There’s no limit on the number of sessions you can attend for different subjects. However, for the same subject, you may attend up to three consecutive sessions or a maximum of six sessions total per day.

Can I drop in with my friends, or do tutoring sessions have to be one-on-one?

Yes, you’re welcome to drop in with friends if you’re working on the same questions or topics. If no other students are waiting, the session time may be slightly extended. However, we don’t recommend large groups, as it can make it harder for everyone to get the support they need.

What if there isn’t an LA available for the course I’m looking for?

If no LA is available when you arrive, please wait in the designated waiting area or try coming back during another shift. If your course is not currently supported by our LA program, you can let the information assistant at the front desk know. We regularly assess student demand and may adjust the list of LA-supported courses in the future based on feedback.

Do LAs offer review sessions before exams?

Yes, review sessions may be offered before exams, but not necessarily for all LA-supported courses. The decision depends on feedback from LAs, student attendance, and requests from students or course instructors.
