[Qilin in the Making] During each semester Center for New Student Programs generates multiple educational events that aims to enhance first year student's personal and professional growth as an young adult. Such as in"大牛面对面:A Talk with Chancellor Tong" they invited Chancellor Tong as a guest speaker to share his life experiences and answering to student audience's questions regarding how to have a more fulfilled college life. [Make NYU Shanghai Your Community] At the beginning of each academic year, a big note board will be placed around campus where upper class students and other community members can leave a word or two with their best wishes and most sincere suggestions to the new students.
