U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad paid a visit to NYU Shanghai on December 7 and fielded questions about U.S.-China relations from students. Branstad, who was accompanied by his wife, Christine Branstad, and U.S. Consul General for Shanghai Sean Stein, was greeted by Chancellor Yu Lizhong and toured the campus with Vice Chancellor Jeff Lehman and Provost Joanna Waley-Cohen. Following the tour, the ambassador met with a roundtable of students recommended by faculty. “China is still a mystery to many people in the US,” Branstad said. “Programs like [NYU Shanghai], where students get to integrate and get to know each other are really good” for improving relations between our two countries. Branstad also encouraged more Americans to come to China: “This is an exciting, dynamic, and changing place,” he said, noting that his own daughter had decided to come teach and live in China with her young family for a while. “You have to have a sense of adventure, but wow - what an opportunity!” Share: Facebook Twitter Weibo All Years202420232022202120202019201820172016201520142013 Apply Year of the Monkey Feb 5 2016 Club Fest Feb 4 2016 Spring Festival Celebration Feb 1 2016 Winter Welcome Party Jan 26 2016 Lens of the City Dec 14 2015 Interactive Hive Dec 14 2015 Holiday Gifts Dec 11 2015 Spirit of the Days Dec 8 2015 Worlds in Miniature Dec 2 2015 Fresh TranslationDec 1 2015 Long Museum Collaboration Dec 1 2015 NYU President-Designate Hamilton Visits NYU ShanghaiDec 1 2015 Executives Alumni Mentoring Program Nov 25 2015 Fos Field Trip to Canature CompanyNov 24 2015 Annual Dumpling FestivalNov 23 2015 Pagination « First First page ‹ Previous Previous page … 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 … Next › Next page Last » Last page
