U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad paid a visit to NYU Shanghai on December 7 and fielded questions about U.S.-China relations from students. Branstad, who was accompanied by his wife, Christine Branstad, and U.S. Consul General for Shanghai Sean Stein, was greeted by Chancellor Yu Lizhong and toured the campus with Vice Chancellor Jeff Lehman and Provost Joanna Waley-Cohen. Following the tour, the ambassador met with a roundtable of students recommended by faculty. “China is still a mystery to many people in the US,” Branstad said. “Programs like [NYU Shanghai], where students get to integrate and get to know each other are really good” for improving relations between our two countries. Branstad also encouraged more Americans to come to China: “This is an exciting, dynamic, and changing place,” he said, noting that his own daughter had decided to come teach and live in China with her young family for a while. “You have to have a sense of adventure, but wow - what an opportunity!” Share: Facebook Twitter Weibo All Years202420232022202120202019201820172016201520142013 Apply Cut from a Different Cloth Dec 14 2016 Cross Language Purposes Dec 14 2016 Getting to EurekaDec 8 2016 Exposures of ShanghaiDec 8 2016 A Fine Line Dec 1 2016 2013 Fund Launch Nov 29 2016 Amazing Grain Nov 28 2016 Cookie Kitchen Nov 28 2016 Know Thyself Nov 16 2016 A Twist in Time Nov 11 2016 Festival of LightsNov 7 2016 Sweet Life Nov 1 2016 Alumni Making Good Oct 26 2016 Bump, Set, Spike Oct 25 2016 Executive TimberOct 24 2016 Pagination « First First page ‹ Previous Previous page … 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 … Next › Next page Last » Last page
