Program Overview

Step into a transformative summer experience that goes far beyond the court. The Qilin Youth Summer Camp is a unique, week-long program that blends basketball training with public speaking skills development, all in an immersive English-language environment. Designed for students aged 10-13, the camp equips young learners with tools to grow as athletes, thinkers, and community leaders. The groups are mixed between boys and girls. No advanced skills are required.

The camp is capped at just 40 participants, ensuring an intimate, supportive learning atmosphere. The program is led by the NYU Shanghai Athletics and Fitness team and student leaders, bringing energy, relatability, and global perspectives to every session.

*The program will officially begin once we reach 30 registered campers.

Daily Schedule Overview

  • 2.5 Hours – Basketball Training
Mornings begin with high-energy basketball sessions guided by FIBA-certified coaches. Campers will improve their technical skills, physical conditioning, and strategic thinking through dynamic drills and small-group coaching.
  • 1.5 Hours – Lunch & Free Time
Midday provides time to recharge, socialize, and enjoy a healthy lunch. Free time is supervised and offers optional light recreation or rest.
  • 1.5 Hours – Communication Skills Activities
In the afternoon, campers dive into interactive workshops and games that focus on key leadership traits—such as communication, empathy, responsibility, and problem-solving. Each day is themed, and sessions are led by NYU Shanghai student mentors.
  • 2.5 Hours – Scrimmages and Team Building
The day ends with structured matches where campers apply what they’ve learned in a friendly yet competitive setting. Coaches and student leaders help guide reflection and encourage sportsmanship.
